Cassonade

A clock HUD and a weather forecast for Minecraft

Equip a clock to see the time, the weather, the day count and the moon's phase in the top-left corner of the screen. Combine it with a lightning rod to make a barometer, and know when the next rain or thunderstorm will come.

Part of Cassonade, a free vanilla+ mod for Minecraft 26.3 (Fabric)

How it works

Equip a clock to know when night falls, a barometer to know when rain will.

  • Equip a clock in the clock slot: a panel in the top-left corner shows the time and the current weather.
  • The day count and the moon's phase.
  • A small bed when you can sleep, with a soft chime as it shows up: at nightfall, or as a thunderstorm starts.
  • Craft a barometer from a clock and a lightning rod, and wear it in the clock's slot instead: the panel also shows the next weather change, read from the server's own weather timers.
  • In the Nether, the clock spins, just like in vanilla.

Barometer Clock + Lightning rod

Worn in the clock's slot, it also shows the next weather change, read from the server's own weather timers.

Questions

How does the barometer know the weather?

Minecraft decides the next weather change in advance, with timers on the server. The barometer reads them, so its forecast is the game's own, not a guess. When the weather is frozen, there is nothing to forecast.

When can I sleep?

When the small bed shows on the clock: at nightfall, or as soon as a thunderstorm starts. A soft chime rings as it appears.

Does Cassonade change the length of the day?

Yes: daytime lasts 20 minutes instead of 10, and the night keeps its vanilla length. The clock and the forecast follow the slower day.

Does the forecast work in multiplayer?

Yes, when the server has Cassonade too: it sends the forecast to players wearing a barometer.
